Earlier this year, I participated in Masters Thesis research on the solo GP model; and
Way back in 2022, QED’s Frank Rotman covered the solo GP model as one of three “stable points” in the venture ecosystem.
While the solo GP model has worked for us, there’s many ways to win in venture. “Right strategy for the right GP” is what I always say. And regardless of the firm model, finding outliers, picking the right ones, and getting to conviction at speed will always be what wins.
