Yesterday, live on Bloomberg TV, Northwood announced their oversubscribed $30M Series A, co-led by a16z and Alpine Space Ventures. Also Capital doubled down significantly, alongside existing investors at Founders Fund, Humba Ventures, Banter Capital, and more.
Northwood will use this capital to scale the largest cloud-native, shared ground network to support the growing space economy. Think about what they’re doing as building Cloudflare for space data. Cloudflare turned a traditionally hardware-heavy, fragmented internet infrastructure into a cloud-native, globally distributed network that improves performance, security, and programmability for web traffic. That’s the promise of Northwood, and government and commercial customers alike are taking notice (more on that soon…).
Our friends at a16z articulated this opportunity well in more detail in their investment announcement, linked here, and you can watch the segment on Bloomberg here.
Congrats to Bridgit, Griff, Shaur, and the whole Northwood team on an amazing milestone. And of course you’re looking to join a team of kind, but exceptionally talented and ambitious people, they’re hiring!
